One of the keys to the systems great performance is Seagate's perpendicular storage technology, that allows more data density than ever before. The new ST3250410AS drives achieve a sustained transfer rate in excess of 110 megabytes per second. The ability to maintain over 100mb/s read and write performance for the first half of the drive, and 90mb/s average for the entire drive, makes them the perfect choice for loading our huge selection of games as quickly as possible. It also means they are faster than the first and second generation Raptor 10,000 RPM drives, even with a spindle speed of only 7,200 RPM.
Our other performance cornerstone is the 9800GT. While most 9800GT models are just a hardware refresh of the 8800GT, the Zotac cards provide an additional 10% performance increase. This allows the games to run just that much better, and keep the games that much happier.
